We’re so excited to introduce you to our September Mom of the Month: Arsh Preet, the powerhouse behind Skin Glow KC! A devoted mom of two, esthetician, and entrepreneur with a heart for helping others feel confident, Arsh is redefining what it means to balance motherhood and business ownership. Her journey is rooted in faith, family, and the belief that every person deserves to feel radiant—inside and out.

Tell us a little about yourself and your family.

My name is Arsh, and I’m the proud mom of two amazing little ones. We live in Olathe, KS, and love being part of this warm and family-oriented community. A fun fact about us: we’re big on family traditions—whether it’s weekend outings, cheering at activities, or simply enjoying quality time together. Motherhood has been a huge inspiration for everything I do, and it keeps life exciting (and very real!).

What inspired you to start your business?

I’ve always had a passion for skincare and helping people feel confident in their own skin. After years of working in esthetics, I wanted to create a space that was welcoming, modern, and rooted in self-care. That’s how Skin Glow KC was born. It’s more than just a spa—it’s a place where people can recharge, heal, and take a break from the stresses of daily life.

What does a typical day look like for you as a mom and business owner?

Mornings usually start with the school rush—packing snacks & lunches, getting everyone ready, and squeezing in coffee. Once the kids are off, I shift into business mode: answering client messages, planning social media content, and preparing for appointments. My afternoons are filled with treatments, from facials to scalp therapy to brows. Evenings circle back to mom-life: homework, after-school activities, family dinner, and snuggles before bed. It’s a lot of hats to wear in one day, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

What has been the most rewarding part of running your business?

The joy on a client’s face when they see their skin transform is truly priceless. Hearing someone say they feel more confident, relaxed, radiant, or that they just experienced the best service they’ve ever had reminds me why I love what I do. On a deeper level, building this business has also been about showing my children—and myself—that with passion and hard work, dreams can become reality. That balance of professional fulfillment and personal purpose is what makes this journey so rewarding.

What challenges have you faced balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship, and how do you handle them?

Balancing both worlds is definitely a challenge. There are days when I feel like I’m not giving enough to either role. My approach has been to set boundaries, dedicated family time and dedicated work time and also to give myself grace. I remind myself that I don’t have to be perfect in both roles, just present.

What advice would you give to other moms thinking about starting their own business?

Start before you feel ready—because the truth is, you’ll never feel 100% prepared. Lean into your passion, do your research, and surround yourself with a strong support system whether it’s family, friends, or fellow business owners, who can lift you up on the hard days. Trust in God’s timing and guidance, because He will open the right doors when you walk in faith. Most importantly, remember that your business is a reflection of you, so let it shine with your values, your personality, and your heart.

How do you and your family like to spend time together when you’re not working?

We love simple family outings trips to the park, library visits, or cozy movie nights at home. My kids enjoy anything that lets them be creative, so we spend time doing crafts, baking, and fun projects together. We also enjoy exploring local events and festivals, trying out new restaurants, and taking little weekend adventures when we can. Even the small moments like evening walks, board games, or just laughing around the dinner table are the ones that make us feel closest and create the best memories.

Anything else you’d like to share with our readers?

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that motherhood and business ownership both require patience, faith, and resilience. There will be seasons of growth and seasons of struggle but each one shapes you and draws you closer to God’s plan. Trusting His timing has carried me through the hardest moments and reminded me that every season has a purpose. My hope is that Skin Glow KC continues to grow into a space that not only helps people glow on the outside but also uplifts and inspires them on the inside.
